ABOUT BRAZOS WATERSHED ALLIANCE
Hood County Precinct 2 is facing the impact of multiple large scale power plant & data center developments threatening our clean air, water resources, property values, and peaceful enjoyment of our environment. Industrial developments are as follows; five power plants, multiple hyperscale data centers, three Lithium Battery Energy Storage Systems, two Utility-Scale Solar Farms and with the Big Digital Energy project the list goes on.
Our goal is to encourage responsible development, advocating for policies such as Local Government Code Chapter 231 Subchapter K. In order to protect the health, safety, wellbeing, and livability of our rural community, with an emphasis on safeguarding the Brazos watershed, Sub-watershed including the Trinity Aquifer, which supplies all ground water wells within this county.
Our approach combines community involvement and advocacy to address the challenges facing our Community. We believe in the power of collaboration and strive to create a future where our families, rivers, and ecosystems thrive.
Join the fight to help protect our community and the Brazos river!
